BIO: Al Palacio
(electric and acoustic guitars)
Al Palacio (electric and acoustic guitars) is an
Orange County, California native who moved north to the greater
Sacramento area in 1997.
Although he's been playing a musical instrument since the 3rd
grade, it was the saxophone he played with the famed Santa Ana
Winds band, "the official music ambassadors for Orange County."
Guitar being his passion, Al left the "The Winds" after one last
TV performance in the Hollywood Christmas Parade and made guitar
his instrument of pursuit.
Al studied at the Guitar Institute of Technology within the
Musicians Institute in Hollywood, which claims musicians from
Weezer, Maroon 5 and the Neville Brothers as among its alumni.
After leaving GIT and a brief stint in Manhattan, Al
returned to Southern California where he re-teamed with Scott,
his musical partner of several incarnations ago.
When he wasn't playing guitar, Al was making them. While
working at the world-famous Fender Custom Shop in Corona,
Calif., Al did a stint in Santa Barbara to work with legendary
bass guitar maker Phil Kubicki.
The two hit it off; Phil was so impressed with Al that he
allowed him to play his collection of priceless guitars, and Al
bought from Phil an African Padauk Stratocaster body "dirt
cheap" and a one-piece Rosewood Mini Flying V. The Strato is now
one of Al's main guitars.
Al Endorses Trailer Trash Pedalboards!
